Presentation of the Documentation Centre Amedeo Modigliani
The Documentation Centre Amedeo Modigliani has as main purpose to bring Amedeo Modigliani in the land of those Masters of the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries called Primitivi Senesi. That is the reason why, through the initiative of a Cultural Association in Colle di Val d' Elsa, was born the Documentation Centre Amedeo Modigliani: a library of books about the artist; the masters of the past that inspired him; the Macchiaioli, from which he derived; Guglielmo Micheli on the upper room from where he began his career, on his contemporaries such as the Paris circle as the Livorno circle.
Photocopying of documents and about a hundred photographic enlargements of particular interest, for images that tell precisely the artist's life.
Another primary purpose of the Documentation Centre is to raise awareness of young artists or those who for various reasons are still in the shadows and promote their work.
Today the information consumed in a dizzying makes it much more difficult to have knowledge of the contemporary scene, and even more to take stock manual. This Centre has certainly not presume to fully compensate for this lack, but already is working on a publishing program which may constitute a significant card in the realization of this difficult mosaic. In each case the structure is already equipped with an extensive library on the Contemporary.
